Then one of the guys who was waiting for the same bus hailed a cab. As he was getting into a taxi, I asked if we could share a ride. Who knows how much longer I would be waiting--already drenched, by the way--on that side of the road!
He got out first and gave me $40.00 for his share. That ended up being more than fair as the entire ride was $68.50. I guess he figured it would've cost him about $60.00 to get to where he needed to go, so even $40.00 was a deal for him.
I almost asked the taxi driver to take me all the way to work. But no. I'll take the train. This is where I can save money. The commute is easy once I get to the train station.
If only I had the option of driving to work...ugh.
this commute situation sounds like a major drag...so sorry...
